I believe the health of the mind is directly related to the health of the body and that the two function interdependently. As a doctorally-prepared mental health nurse practitioner, the nursing philosophies of holistic, health promotion rather than disease-oriented, patient- and family-centered care resonate deeply with me.
I can help clients address a multitude of mental health concerns for limited example, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, insomnia, and plain old everyday life stressors. We all have them and sometimes we need a little help. Further, I am an ally to marginalized populations and open to and curious of the perspectives and situations of all individuals. Lastly, it may be important to note that I am a hetero-cisgender male who uses the pronouns he, him, & his.
The bulk of my practice is psychotherapy oriented though I enrich this with nursing and medical perspectives. Occasionally I prescribe and manage psychotropic medications as they may facilitate the therapeutic process. I value the idea that as client and counselor we are on a collaborative journey to self-discovery and development and I feel extremely privileged to have this opportunity.
