I earned my Doctorate of Psychology from Pacific University in 2016 and have been providing psychological services since 2012 in community mental health clinics, college counseling centers, and medical settings (Maternal Fetal Medicine and Midwifery Clinics). Prior to graduate school, I provided crisis support to sexual assault victims from 2009-2011. I am currently a Psychologist Resident under the supervision of Licensed Psychologist Elsbeth Martindale, PsyD. A psychologist resident is a person approved by the Board of Psychologist Examiners to practice psychological services after completion of his/her doctorate degree while working towards becoming a licensed psychologist.
I am most interested in helping individuals who have struggled with years of anxiety, depression, or really strong emotional reactions who are not looking to“fix a problem” but rather find a way to cope with the struggles while leading a meaningful life. My other area of passion is helping individuals who are in a life's transition (e.g. divorce, new relationships, pregnancy, or grief/loss) and is currently struggling with feeling overwhelmed or lost. I strongly believe with the right support and coping skills, each person can live the life he/she imagines. I look forward to using my knowledge and experience to help you too!
I grew up in Wisconsin and still have my Midwestern accent despite having been in Oregon and New Mexico for the last six years. I strongly believe in self-care and spent five years working on original research exploring its impact. My own self-care practice includes mindfulness, crafting, video games, exercising (currently training for a 10K), and being in nature. I love spending time exploring the great outdoors; be it traveling, hiking, or geocaching. I usually am listening to a podcast or an audiobook so I can still experience the joy of reading books and discovering new things. My other area of passion is, of course, the Green Bay Packers! I strive to find balance in my life including being serious and yet still being able to joke and have fun.
