There is no better time than now to explore your path to well being.
Life circumstances can feel overwhelming and bigger than us. As adults, parents and partners we can feel stuck and unable to access our wiser selves to accomplish what we want for our children, ourselves and in relationship to others. As teens, we can get bogged down with expectations and feel like we are sinking. Lets work collaboratively to grow your awareness of the challenges and habitual patterns that make your life and relationship seem unmanageable and unfulfilling. We will uncover the emotional intelligence you already have and craft a personal narrative that is most affirming of who you truly are.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Portland, Oregon, graduating with an MSW from Portland State University in 2012. I provide individual and family therapy for teens and adults and couples therapy to happily engaged couples or couples transitioning. As a "seasoned" therapist, I bring over a decade of combined experience providing intensive mental health services to at risk children, adolescents, adults and families in urban and rural outpatient mental health clinics, criminal justice, school and residential settings. In addition, I have completed over 100 hours of education and training in domestic relations mediation, assisting couples with developing effective relational/separation agreements and parenting plans.
Areas of Clinical Interest
I am particularly interested in working with teens, adults, families and couples impacted by depression, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma related conditions, intimacy, trust and communication challenges, and “every day” frustrations in life. I am passionate about empowering clients to work through their comfort zone forging fertile grounds for healing while gaining awareness of circumstances that create barriers to the life they want for themselves and in relationship with others. One of the greatest gifts of doing this work is getting to play a part in and witnessing emotional and relational transformation in my clients.
I work collaboratively and "relationally" with you, incorporating a variety of trauma informed, strengths based, client centered approaches. I pay particular attention to attachment concerns and how family of origin issues show up in our relationships and lives. I am trained in and utilize a variety of evidence-based interventions and I find that clients appreciate when I incorporate creative and narrative based interventions as a non-judgmental, direct approach to difficult circumstances. Previous clients have described me as intuitive, non-judgmental, warm, authentic, direct, compassionate, and skilled at "creating a safe space."
